Brief Bio
Ana Paula Rocha is an Auxiliary Professor at the Department of Computing Engineering, University of Porto.
She participated in European as well as national funded projects involving advanced features of intelligent agents for applications.
She is member of DAIAS (Distributed Artificial Intelligence and Agent-based Simulation) group at LIACC (Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science) since 1990. She is also member of APPIA (Portuguese Association for Artificial Intelligence).
Her main current research topics of interest include Agent-based frameworks for B2B electronic commerce, Multi-Agent Learning, Negotiation, Argumentation and Trust. She participated in the organization of workshops related to Artificial Intelligence and Multi Agent Systems, as well as in the Program Committee of several conferences in these areas. ... More >>

Brief Bio
Luc Steels has been an ICREA research fellow at the Institute for Evolutionary Biology (UPF-CSIC) in Barcelona. He studied computer science at MIT (US) and became a a professor of Artificial Intelligence (AI) at the University of Brussels (VUB) in 1983. He founded the VUB AI Lab. In 1996 Steels founded the Sony Computer Science Laboratory in Paris. Steels is currently associated with the Barcelona Supercomputing Center and the Venice international University where he pursues his interests in bringing Meaning and Understanding into AI, Value-Aware AI, and more fairness for musicians in digital music distribution and generation. ...
