ENABLING SEMANTIC RESOURCES IN THE CLOUD

Abstract: The massive migration to cloud solution appears next to be a fact. Cloud infrastructures could assure a competitive, scalable and sustainable environment for services and applications. However, next generation applications have to be able to pervasively meet the needs and requirements deeply different among them. Applications involving complex virtual organizations could require a higher level of flexibility that could result by the convergence of migration and virtualization. In this paper, a resource-centric model, is proposed: file systems, DBs, services and any other class of resources are available in the "cloud" as Virtual Resources regardless the infrastructures on which they are deployed. Semantics play a critical role in order to assure advanced and open solutions in a technologic context featured by a fundamental lack of standardization.

IMPACT OF SEMANTIC TECHNOLOGIES TO HUMAN BEHAVIOR MODELING - A Psychosocial Rationalization

Abstract: The promotion of healthy habits have lots of benefits. In this way, the discovery of human health habits will allow to experts, among others advantages, evaluate the accuracy of the promotion models. Nevertheless, to design and develop a model that correctly predict and anticipate the behavior of an individual or a group is a difficult task, in the sense that the challenge of representing the behavior includes such diverse areas as simulating the effects of making decision, modeling the cognitive processes that take place in making that decision, or simulate the perception of motor skills. The design of an unified method to access the current human behavior theories will facilitate the application of motivation technologies in an holistic way. In this paper, a review about the factors involved on human behavior modeling, and the most important theories on people health behavior is made and a first attempt for the creation of a unified health behavior model is presented.

TOWARDS MULTIAGENT INTERACTIVE ADAPTION OF INDIVIDUAL MODELS FOR DECISION SUPPORT

Abstract: Software agents in complex, dynamic environments need to update, adapt, and improve their knowledge models for decision making in order to achieve adequate results. Their individual adaption often relies on machine learning from observational data. However, when data is not available in the required quantity and quality, alternative approaches are required. We propose an interaction-based approach to individual model adaption in multiagent systems, describe agent roles and interaction principles, and discuss how a goal-oriented transfer of knowledge among agents can be integrated into an agent-based knowledge management framework.

DESCRIPTION PLAUSIBLE LOGIC PROGRAMS FOR STREAM REASONING

Abstract: Stream reasoning is defined as real time logical reasoning on large, noisy, heterogeneous data streams, aiming to support the decision process of large numbers of concurrent querying agents. In this research we exploit nonmonotonic rule-based systems for handling inconsistent or incomplete information and also ontologies to deal with heterogeneity. Data is aggregated from distributed streams in real time and plausible rules fire when new data is available. This study also investigates the advantages of lazy evaluation on data streams.
